Smoke Alarm Program

Manson Fire Department is offering the community the opportunity to participate in our free smoke alarm and safety home survey.  Our department is committed to keeping our local families safe and devote our efforts to protecting you from possible disaster.  Our volunteers will visit your residence to evaluate your current smoke-alarm system and determine if detectors are safely working.  We will also identify possible fire hazards in your home and will advise a safe escape plan if fire should occur. Typically, after 10 years a smoke alarm can lose its reliability, over time detector components will eventually break down. We urge you to be proactive and replace old smoke alarms! 
If you currently have a hard-wired system, we unfortunately will not be able to change those as it could require a licensed electrician. 
We are currently partnered with the American Red Cross who are supplying the smoke alarm units. We can install new alarms along with 10-year lithium batteries at no charge.

Once the appointment is made, one of our team members will contact you the day before to confirm date & time. If you need to reschedule, we urge you to let the department know right away, so we can fill your slot with another interested resident.
